Kijabe School of Nursing (KSN) commenced in 1980 with a class of fourteen students.
This college is located at the Kijabe mission hospital compound and offers courses in:
1) Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN).
The course takes 3 ½ years to complete and for one to be admitted, he/she needs the following qualification:
· KCSE with the following minimum academic requirements;
* Minimum aggregate C plain
* Mandatory subjects: C plain in English, or Kiswahili, and biology or biological sciences
* Additional subjects: C- minus in any of the following: - physical science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, home science, physics with chemistry and not clothing textiles.
* Must be a born again christian and active in christian faith.
2) Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) distance learning module:
This is a 2 years module based program and is only for upgrading
Entrance requirement
* Must be enrolled with Nursing Council (KECHN) and with a valid license.
* Must have served for atleast 2 years
Admission is done twice a yr in March and September.
3) Kenya Registered Nurse Anesthesia (KRNA)
This is a 1 year and 4 months clinical internship offered to students who have done nursing but have not experience.
Entrance requirements
* Must be a registered diploma or degree nurse by the Nursing Council of Kenya and with a valid license.
