African Institute for Capacity Development

The African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD), is an international organization with its Headquarters located at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Juja, 35 km along Thika road north of the city of Nairobi, in Kenya. The main goal of the Institute is poverty reduction in the African region through human capacity development.

To be the leading African institution in building human capacity for poverty reduction.
MISSION
To link Knowledge to application within communities in partner countries in Africa in order to reduce poverty.

The institutes main activities are:
  • Utilization of existing and new knowledge and technology.
  • Creation of technology suitable for local conditions.
  • Development and utilization of local expertise.
  • Building a bridge between institutions creating technology and communities using that technology.
  • Exchange of information, experiences and best practices.
  • Sharing human resources and information in the region and beyond in this endeavor
